Raise a Smile: Meet the Children

Chizola is 13 years old and in grade 6 at Hope and Faith School in N'gombe which is a compound in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. Raise a Smile currently pay Chizola's school fees and birthday and Christmas presents (usually pens, pencils, books etc. to help him with his education). He is a big Wrestling fan! His family situation meant that he did not attend school until he was much older than most children. Fortunately, he is very intelligent and has been taking 2 school grades per year to catch up. He lives at the Bwanji Kids orphanage in N'gombe compound.

Martha is 15 years old and is in grade 6 of Hope and Faith School in N'gombe. We also pay the school fees for Martha. Martha always has a big smile on her face and loves to sing. The other kids at the orphanage like her because she is so friendly. She wants to attend a secondary school and then do her final exams after grade 12. After that she dreams of studying to become a teacher. Thanks to your donations we can make that dream a reality!

Nathan is 2 years old and lives at the Kazembe Orphanage in the North of Zambia. He was brought to the orphanage when he was 5 months old as his mother had died of a heart infection (possibly due to AIDS). When Nathan was tested for HIV the results, thankfully, came back negative! He is a very friendly and happy child. Nathan is sponsored by the Raise a Smile Hostel in Berlin, which sends a monthly donation to the Kazembe Orphanage to pay for food, clothes, accommodation, nannies and his education.
